Market Evening Wrap 1st oct 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 44,846.14pts with a gap of -53.46pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,003.26pts where a net change of 103.66pts was recorded. While a day low of 44,599.61pts with net change of -299.99pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 44,871.70pts with net change of -27.90pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 266.96 million shares with net change of -105.42 million shares or -28.31% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 111.35 million shares with net change of -101.27 million shares or -47.63%. TPL, BYCO and HASCOL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 15.30, 14.24 and 14.18 and net price change of 0.25, 0.24 and 8.49 percent respectively.

Today, 385 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 249 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 16 companies closed with no change but 120 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. COLG, SAPT and SIEM lead the price gainers with net price change of 92.88, 51.00 and 33.49 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side NESTLE, SHEZ and MUREB remained top three price losers with net price change of -125.80, -19.13 and -18.91 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 59.31, 23.74 and 22.46 million shares respectively. CHEMICAL, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and PHARMACEUTICALS sectors have supported index by adding 28.16, 25.14 and 14.12 points, while on the other side CEMENT, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -56.12, -36.87 and -32.52 points respectively.
