Market Evening Wrap 20th April. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,214.19pts with a gap of 300.62pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,558.13pts where a net change of 644.56pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,214.19pts with net change of 300.62pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,399.78pts with net change of 486.21pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 343.28 million shares with net change of -19.76 million shares or -5.44% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 128.39 million shares with net change of -2.86 million shares or -2.18%. WTL, UNITY and GGL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 57.04, 30.64 and 24.65 and net price change of 2.37, 6.53 and -0.60 percent respectively.

Today, 360 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 245 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 19 companies closed with no change but 96 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. RMPL, COLG and NESTLE lead the price gainers with net price change of 9818.00, 139.00 and 90.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side SRVI, MARI and IDYM remained top three price losers with net price change of -577.81, -19.95 and -11.49 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES and CHEMICAL sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 111.13, 30.64 and 29.85 million shares respectively. TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and CEMENT sectors have supported index by adding 126.09, 70.57 and 35.34 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, REFINERY and TRANSPORT sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -17.15, -6.67 and -1.07 points respectively.
