Market Evening Wrap 20th Aug. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 40,183.26pts with a gap of 29.15pts. Later on index posted a high of 40,249.51pts where a net change of 95.40pts was recorded.While a day low of 39,781.39pts with net chage of -372.72pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 39,868.55pts with net chage of -285.56pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 394.62 million shares with net change of -32.57 million shares or -7.62% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 242.94 million shares with net change of -6.00 million shares or -2.41%. TRG, PTC and UNITY remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 30.41, 21.05 and 19.96 and net price change of 2.65, 2.94 and 2.93 percent respectively.

Today,343 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and out of these 128 closed with net positive price change. While 17 companies closed with no change but 198 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. UPFL, BHAT and SAPT lead the price gainers with net price change of 100.00, 74.56 and 49.87 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side NESTLE, ILTM and SFL remained top three price losers with net price change of -100.00, -74.33 and -54.99 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 83.90, 40.29 and 36.74 million shares respectively. TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, TOBACCO and Investment sectors have supported index by adding 17.02, 3.77 and 2.95 points, while on the other side CEMENT, COMMERCIAL BANKS and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -78.16, -64.80 and -33.74 points respectively.
