Market Evening Wrap 20th Aug. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,360.67pts with a gap of 102.22pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,640.21pts where a net change of 381.76pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,335.41pts with net change of 76.96pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,620.49pts with net change of 362.04pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 288.11 million shares with net change of 42.07 million shares or 17.10% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 116.02 million shares with net change of 34.12 million shares or 41.66%. GGL, BYCO and TPL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 21.64, 18.86 and 10.36 and net price change of 4.27, 1.74 and 1.15 percent respectively.

Today, 374 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 229 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 16 companies closed with no change but 129 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. BATA, BUXL and INDU lead the price gainers with net price change of 121.98, 14.07 and 14.02 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side WYETH, NESTLE and PECO remained top three price losers with net price change of -129.46, -122.17 and -27.64 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and CHEMICAL sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 49.23, 44.96 and 36.68 million shares respectively. CEMENT, COMMERCIAL BANKS and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 183.94, 98.06 and 38.33 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, INSURANCE and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -25.22, -8.78 and -6.91 points respectively.
