Session Recap
The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 40,662.17pts with a positive gap of 87.65pts during current trading session and moved towards it day high at 40,697.05pts in next five minutes where a net change of 122.53pts was recorded, mean while index face rejection from 40,700pts where a strong resistant region have pushed it back towards 40,451.01pts where net change of -123.51pts was recorded. Later on index moved in a zig zag and posted day low at 40,445.78pts with a net change of -128.74pts. While session suspended at 40,481.65pts with net change of -92.87pts.
Trading volume at PSX floor dropped by 30.96 million shares or 21.65% on DoD basis to settle at 112.01 million shares. While same negative trend was witnessed in trading figures of KSE100 listed companies where total volume of 83.52 million share was recorded with a net change of -26.04 million shares or 23.77% on DoD basis. HASCOL, BOP and DGKC remained top three volume leading scripts with net trading volume of 8.76, 8.66 and 8.13 million shares and net price change of -3.16, 2.16 and -2.09 percent respectively.
Today, 326 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 125 out of these closed with a positive price change while 20 companies closed with no price change but 181 companies closed in red zone at day end. COLG, SAPT and UPFL remained top three price gainer with net price change of 100.00, 54.94 and 50.00 Rs/share. While on the other side SFL, OTSU and BATA remained top three price losers with net price change of -28.00, -23.28 and -20.00 Rs/share respectively.
Sector Performance
Cement, Banks and OMCs remained volume leading sectors at PSX with net trading volume of 17.00, 15.32 and 10.56 million shares respectively. Exploration, OMCs and Cement sectors have dragged index into negative zone by -40.92, -29.27 and -25.69 points with accumulated average price change of -0.72, -1.38 and -1.48 percent respectively. While on the other side Chemical, Paper & Board and Automobile sectors have added 15.72, 11.50 and 10.92 points in index with accumulated average price change of 1.53, 6.50 and 1.87 percent respectively.
