Market Evening Wrap 20th May. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 34,216.54pts with a gap of 57.99pts. Later on index posted a high of 34,224.15pts where a net change of 65.60pts was recorded.While a day low of 33,786.96pts with net chage of -371.59pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 33,932.81pts with net chage of -225.74pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 165.07 million shares with net change of -82.36 million shares or -33.29% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 107.16 million shares with net change of -61.37 million shares or -36.42%. HUMNL, HASCOL and TRG remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 11.73, 11.30 and 9.49 and net price change of -9.43, -1.79 and -2.32 percent respectively.

Today, 330 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 116 out of these closed with net positive price change. While 14 companies closed with no change but 200 companies closed with net negative price change at day end.PAKT, PSEL and ICI lead the price gainers with net price change of 39.50, 39.34 and 25.50 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side SAPL, WYETH and SFL remained top three price losers with net price change of -69.14, -50.54 and -44.99 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 28.17, 25.14 and 20.65 million shares respectively. AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER, CEMENT and TOBACCO sectors have supported index by adding 18.42, 12.15 and 10.83 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, FERTILIZER and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -74.05, -64.66 and -37.73 points respectively.
