Market Evening Wrap 20th May. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,713.46pts with a gap of 31.35pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,831.12pts where a net change of 149.01pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,518.74pts with net change of -163.37pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,574.07pts with net change of -108.04pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 784.02 million shares with net change of 205.73 million shares or 35.58% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 376.15 million shares with net change of 78.59 million shares or 26.41%. BYCO, WTL and HASCOL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 120.15, 77.73 and 61.03 and net price change of 7.10, 3.53 and 9.70 percent respectively.

Today, 363 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 201 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 22 companies closed with no change but 140 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. WYETH, SFL and SCL lead the price gainers with net price change of 103.53, 24.00 and 23.05 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side PMPK, AKDCL and SHEZ remained top three price losers with net price change of -37.54, -33.41 and -23.61 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, REFINERY and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 172.27, 146.43 and 66.03 million shares respectively. TRANSPORT, CHEMICAL and INSURANCE sectors have supported index by adding 15.42, 15.00 and 9.98 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -92.47, -48.56 and -46.64 points respectively.
