The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 40,389.77pts with a gap of 49.60pts. Later on index posted a high of 41,056.95pts where a net change of 716.78pts was recorded.While a day low of 40,377.95pts with net chage of 37.78pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 40,956.58pts with net chage of 616.41pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 492.67 million shares with net change of 173.14 million shares or 54.19% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 323.06 million shares with net change of 140.63 million shares or 77.09%. UNITY, HASCOL and FFL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 77.97, 50.72 and 35.14 and net price change of 3.95, 6.13 and -0.98 percent respectively.

Today,352 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 242 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 17 companies closed with no change but 93 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. RMPL, ATLH and EXIDE lead the price gainers with net price change of 43.99, 32.62 and 24.18 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side UPFL, IDYM and ISIL remained top three price losers with net price change of -949.50, -39.88 and -28.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 77.97, 58.03 and 50.50 million shares respectively. CEMENT, COMMERCIAL BANKS and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors have supported index by adding 121.22, 117.55 and 112.13 points, while on the other side CLOSE - END MUTUAL FUND, WOOLLEN and LEASING COMPANIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -4.14, -0.17 and -0.16 points respectively.
