Market Evening Wrap 21st April. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,526.83pts with a gap of 127.05pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,626.88pts where a net change of 227.10pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,226.18pts with net change of -173.60pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,306.54pts with net change of -93.24pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 387.91 million shares with net change of 44.63 million shares or 13.00% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 171.32 million shares with net change of 42.93 million shares or 33.44%. TRG, WTL and UNITY remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 46.75, 42.90 and 37.62 and net price change of 4.98, -6.94 and -0.15 percent respectively.

Today, 354 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 107 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 17 companies closed with no change but 230 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. AKDCL, SCL and TSML lead the price gainers with net price change of 31.50, 15.64 and 9.32 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side ILTM, SAPT and NESTLE remained top three price losers with net price change of -155.55, -74.17 and -73.99 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES and CHEMICAL sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 132.66, 37.62 and 37.01 million shares respectively. TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and FERTILIZER sectors have supported index by adding 69.95, 55.93 and 41.08 points, while on the other side CEMENT, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and ENGINEERING sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -72.84, -42.47 and -25.57 points respectively.
