Market Evening Wrap 21st Aug. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 39,840.12pts with a gap of -28.43pts. Later on index posted a high of 39,864.97pts where a net change of -3.58pts was recorded.While a day low of 39,240.07pts with net chage of -628.48pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 39,621.59pts with net chage of -246.96pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 400.44 million shares with net change of 5.82 million shares or 1.48% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 207.40 million shares with net change of -35.54 million shares or -14.63%. WTL, ANL and TPL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 23.98, 21.79 and 19.59 and net price change of -4.72, 1.88 and -3.25 percent respectively.

Today,334 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and out of these 121 closed with net positive price change. While 18 companies closed with no change but 195 companies closed with net negative price change at day end.ILTM, SFL and PMRS lead the price gainers with net price change of 69.19, 54.99 and 36.02 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side UPFL, NESTLE and PAKT remained top three price losers with net price change of -199.98, -60.00 and -44.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 74.24, 59.67 and 31.86 million shares respectively. AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER, FERTILIZER and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors have supported index by adding 6.59, 6.33 and 5.46 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and CEMENT sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -88.73, -44.29 and -35.18 points respectively.
