Market Evening Wrap 21st Dec. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 43,730.34pts with a gap of -10.21pts. Later on index posted a high of 43,790.72pts where a net change of 50.17pts was recorded. While a day low of 43,295.64pts with net chage of -444.91pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 43,333.76pts with net change of -406.79pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 516.44 million shares with net change of 33.91 million shares or 7.03% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 243.63 million shares with net change of -4.08 million shares or -1.65%. WTL, TRG and ICIBL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 36.56, 35.18 and 31.02 and net price change of 8.33, 1.14 and 46.92 percent respectively.

Today, 378 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 139 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 26 companies closed with no change but 213 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. SRVI, PAKT and GLPL lead the price gainers with net price change of 64.52, 49.00 and 34.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side MARI, MTL and ABOT remained top three price losers with net price change of -26.89, -18.00 and -15.33 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, Investment and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 104.42, 53.25 and 45.19 million shares respectively. TEXTILE COMPOSITE, LEATHER & TANNERIES and TOBACCO sectors have supported index by adding 25.33, 13.75 and 12.79 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, COMMERCIAL BANKS and CEMENT sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -181.66, -111.07 and -40.66 points respectively.
