Session Recap
The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 40,502.01pts with a positive gap of 20.36pts during current trading session and moved towards its day high at 40,527.08pts where net change of 45.43pts was recorded in next five minutes but from that region index lost its momentum moved in negative direction. Before day end index posted its day low at 40,171pts with net change of -310.55pts while session suspended at 40,249.22pts with a net change of -242.43pts.
Trading volume at PSX floor dropped today toward 112.08 million shares with net change of -26.49 million shares or 23.63% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also dropped by 25.07 million shares or 30.01% on DoD basis and settled at 58.48 million shares. MLCF, KAPCO and FFL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 8.08, 7.5 and 5.88 million shares and net price change of 1.41, 1.44 and 2.33% respectively.
Today, 335 companies participated in trading and 142 out of these closed with net positive price change while 25 closed with no price change but 168 companies closed with net negative price change. UPFL, PMPK and BATA lead the price gainers with net price change of 150.00, 90.90 and 39.00 Rs/share. While on the other side SAPT, SFL and SRVI remained to three price losers with net price change of -61.72, -48.94 and -36.93 Rs/share respectively.
Sector Performance
Cement, Food and Power sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 19.65, 9.81 and 9.11 million shares respectively. Fertilizer, Banks and exploration sectors dragged index into negative zone by -92.10, -45.38 and -42.58 points with accumulated average price change of -0.89, -0.07 and -0.62 percent. While on the other side Power, Cement and Textile Composite sectors have tried to add 22.91, 22.75 and 9.66 points in index with accumulated average price change of -0.27, 0.51 and 0.67 percent respectively.
