Market Evening Wrap 21st Jul. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 37,748.70pts with a gap of 98.13pts. Later on index posted a high of 37,938.87pts where a net change of 288.30pts was recorded.While a day low of 37,368.52pts with net chage of -282.05pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 37,700.31pts with net chage of 49.74pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 457.21 million shares with net change of -96.60 million shares or -17.44% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 277.06 million shares with net change of -51.04 million shares or -15.56%. TRG, HASCOL and HUMNL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 28.64, 25.93 and 17.50 and net price change of 0.13, -1.93 and 9.79 percent respectively.

Today, 358 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 128 out of these closed with a net positive price change while 22 closed with no change but 208 companies closed with net negative change at day end.BHAT, NESTLE and HINOON lead the price gainers with net price change of 62.62, 50.00 and 27.37 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side RMPL, INDU and HINO remained top three price losers with net price change of -100.00, -69.25 and -26.99 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 71.74, 58.23 and 43.36 million shares respectively. POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, FERTILIZER and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 196.36, 70.72 and 47.10 points, while on the other side Investment, PHARMACEUTICALS and CEMENT sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -50.92, -44.32 and -34.04 points respectively.
