Market Evening Wrap 21st May. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,563.80pts with a gap of -10.27pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,948.11pts where a net change of 374.04pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,560.13pts with net change of -13.94pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,914.98pts with net change of 340.91pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 710.40 million shares with net change of -73.62 million shares or -9.39% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 294.85 million shares with net change of -81.30 million shares or -21.61%. WTL, BYCO and HASCOL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 99.48, 67.67 and 48.50 and net price change of 6.82, -1.36 and -5.31 percent respectively.

Today, 379 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 252 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 24 companies closed with no change but 103 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. NESTLE, WYETH and PMPK lead the price gainers with net price change of 247.67, 111.30 and 37.51 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side COLG, PAKT and SSOM remained top three price losers with net price change of -30.00, -9.99 and -9.86 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, REFINERY and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 145.33, 111.45 and 71.73 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and CEMENT sectors have supported index by adding 122.91, 68.24 and 30.59 points, while on the other side Investment, TRANSPORT and TOBACCO sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -7.66, -6.33 and -2.97 points respectively.
