Market Evening Wrap 21st Oct 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,548.10pts with a gap of 48.64pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,164.48pts where a net change of 665.02pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,481.99pts with net change of -17.47pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,821.40pts with net change of 321.94pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 338.24 million shares with net change of 30.07 million shares or 9.76% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 181.07 million shares with net change of 48.40 million shares or 36.48%. BOP, TELE and HUMNL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 25.57, 24.33 and 23.89 and net price change of 1.83, 2.39 and 0.77 percent respectively.

Today, 368 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 161 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 16 companies closed with no change but 191 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. MARI, MEHT and GATI lead the price gainers with net price change of 47.54, 35.00 and 30.74 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side MTL, WYETH and RMPL remained top three price losers with net price change of -223.25, -126.35 and -100.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and CHEMICAL sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 86.66, 70.01 and 23.82 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and FERTILIZER sectors have supported index by adding 220.00, 96.62 and 79.54 points, while on the other side TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, Investment and ENGINEERING sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -55.73, -30.04 and -19.54 points respectively.
