Market Evening Wrap 22nd April. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,360.42pts with a gap of 53.88pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,496.82pts where a net change of 190.28pts was recorded. While a day low of 44,882.75pts with net change of -423.79pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 44,929.61pts with net change of -376.93pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 328.90 million shares with net change of -59.01 million shares or -15.21% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 139.54 million shares with net change of -31.78 million shares or -18.55%. GGL, TRG and WTL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 36.38, 30.21 and 26.90 and net price change of 7.47, -0.92 and -4.97 percent respectively.

Today, 353 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 87 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 23 companies closed with no change but 243 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. SAPT, AKDCL and IDYM lead the price gainers with net price change of 55.16, 29.27 and 21.71 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side HINOON, PSMC and GATI remained top three price losers with net price change of -68.66, -25.39 and -25.22 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CHEMICAL and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 84.72, 49.47 and 26.45 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, FERTILIZER and MODARABAS sectors have supported index by adding 89.05, 16.21 and 0.15 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, CEMENT and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -97.73, -60.32 and -56.75 points respectively.
