Market Evening Wrap 22nd Jul. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 37,778.09pts with a gap of 77.78pts. Later on index posted a high of 37,986.37pts where a net change of 286.06pts was recorded.While a day low of 37,552.07pts with net chage of -148.24pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 37,804.61pts with net chage of 104.30pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 405.51 million shares with net change of -51.70 million shares or -11.31% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 257.45 million shares with net change of -19.60 million shares or -7.07%. HASCOL, UNITY and AGL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 21.22, 20.10 and 19.28 and net price change of 2.55, 3.96 and 13.20 percent respectively.

Today, 369 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 162 out of those closed with net positive price change while 26 closed in neutral zone but 181 companies closed with net negative price change. RMPL, BHAT and MTL lead the price gainers with net price change of 299.00, 67.32 and 55.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side PMPK, UPFL and INDU remained top three price losers with net price change of -50.09, -25.00 and -18.61 Pkr/share respectively.

Today CEMENT, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 59.84, 46.61 and 40.20 million shares respectively. CEMENT, AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 61.47, 38.21 and 24.18 points, while on the other side POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, FERTILIZER and INSURANCE sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -42.35, -36.13 and -15.61 points respectively.
