Session Recap
The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 37,118.21pts during current trading session and in next half hour it posted the day low at 36,953.96pts with net change of-147.35pts. Index maintained its supportive region of 36,950pts which fall on an ascending trend line and then started bouncing back in first half. Index continued its bullish sentiment in second half and posted day high at 37,948.37pts with net change of 847.06pts, while session suspended at 37,925.79pts with net change of 824.48pts.
Trading volume at PSX floor have inched up by 10.47 million shares or 4.5% on DoD basis to reach 243.04 million shares during current trading session. TRG, PAEL and BOP remained in top volume leaders with net trading volume of 24.47, 20.63 and 15.41 million shares and net price change of 0.46, 4.96 and 6.02 percent respectively. Trading volume of companies listed in KSE100 index also inched up by 19.75 million shares or 13.48% to reach 166.29 million shares.
335 companies have participate in trading today at PSX, while 263 out of these close with a positive note and price of 11 companies remained unchanged at day end while 61 companies remained in negative zone today. COLG, NESTLE and MARI remained top three moves with price change of 89.97, 76.01 and 28.55 Rs/share, while on the other side SFL, PMPK and IDYM remained in laggards with net price change of -27.50, -19.76 and -15.00 Rs/shares respectively.
PPL, FFC and OGDC were top three index movers and these have added 71.91, 50.15 and 48.25 points in index with net price change of 4.82, 3.25 and 3.36 Rs/share. While HMB, SHFA and SPWL have tried to drag index in negative direction with -3.28, -3.03 and -2.62 points with net price change of -0.29, -4.69 and -0.59 Rs/share respectively.
Sector Performance
Banks, Exploration companies and Fertilizer sectors have pushed index in positive zone by adding 182.63, 161.16 and 120.55 points with accumulative price change of 1.83, 2.71 and 1.64 percent in their respective companies. While on the other side Miscellaneous, Tobacco and Real Estate investment sectors have tried to create a negative impact on index but they could not create a noticeable impact. Technology, Banks and Cement sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume figures of 44.71, 28.74 and 26.04 million shares respectively.
