The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,829.71pts with a gap of 8.31pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,037.95pts where a net change of 216.55pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,180.72pts with net change of -640.68pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,578.36pts with net change of -243.04pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 300.65 million shares with net change of -37.59 million shares or -11.11% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 141.98 million shares with net change of -39.09 million shares or -21.59%. HUMNL, UNITY and WTL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 35.87, 22.54 and 21.05 and net price change of 1.83, -1.61 and -2.47 percent respectively.

Today, 347 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 127 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 9 companies closed with no change but 211 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. SAPT, RMPL and MEHT lead the price gainers with net price change of 74.50, 60.01 and 39.92 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side NESTLE, WYETH and PECO remained top three price losers with net price change of -80.00, -55.32 and -30.56 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 94.05, 41.59 and 22.54 million shares respectively. CEMENT, INSURANCE and AUTOMOBILE PARTS & ACCESSORIES sectors have supported index by adding 40.59, 26.14 and 10.69 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, FERTILIZER and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -64.98, -64.49 and -59.19 points respectively.
