Market Evening Wrap 23rd April. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 44,864.97pts with a gap of -64.64pts. Later on index posted a high of 44,865.41pts where a net change of -64.20pts was recorded. While a day low of 44,363.40pts with net change of -566.21pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 44,706.76pts with net change of -222.85pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 240.48 million shares with net change of -88.42 million shares or -26.88% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 97.00 million shares with net change of -42.54 million shares or -30.49%. GGL, WTL and TRG remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 38.78, 24.11 and 23.64 and net price change of 4.91, 1.96 and 2.65 percent respectively.

Today, 331 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 117 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 16 companies closed with no change but 198 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. GATI, AKDCL and SHEZ lead the price gainers with net price change of 33.35, 23.87 and 21.46 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side WYETH, AABS and PSMC remained top three price losers with net price change of -30.06, -26.49 and -23.48 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CHEMICAL and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 68.16, 45.00 and 16.68 million shares respectively. TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, REFINERY and MISCELLANEOUS sectors have supported index by adding 42.07, 4.89 and 4.59 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, FERTILIZER and CHEMICAL sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -56.45, -47.77 and -40.40 points respectively.
