The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,698.85pts with a gap of 78.36pts. Later on index posted a high of 48,144.89pts where a net change of 524.40pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,697.16pts with net change of 76.67pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 48,112.21pts with net change of 512.39pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 397.64 million shares with net change of 109.53 million shares or 38.02% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 147.54 million shares with net change of 31.52 million shares or 27.16%. HUMNL, BOP and GGL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 35.38, 22.28 and 19.88 and net price change of 6.67, 4.56 and 1.51 percent respectively.

Today, 405 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 269 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 17 companies closed with no change but 119 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. RMPL, UPFL and WYETH lead the price gainers with net price change of 300.00, 260.01 and 119.75 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side BATA, COLG and MEHT remained top three price losers with net price change of -88.41, -64.75 and -36.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 73.26, 52.85 and 37.29 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and MISCELLANEOUS sectors have supported index by adding 177.58, 167.21 and 69.86 points, while on the other side CHEMICAL, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and ENGINEERING sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -65.29, -19.50 and -5.26 points respectively.
