Market Evening Wrap 23rd Dec. 2019

The Benchmarks KSE100 index opened at 40,775.37pts with a negative gap of -57.62pts during current trading session and dropped straight forwardly towards 40,492.07pts with net change of -340.92pts. But later on bulls take control of the market and they lead index towards 40,734.35pts where net change remained only -98.64pts. after that they lost their control and index dropped towards the day low at 39,931.78pts with net change of -901.21pts. While session suspended at 40008.29pts with net change of -824.70pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor remained sluggish where trading volume figures remained same as compared to last trading session and trading volume figure settled at 179.10 million shares with net change of -1.6 million shares or -0.89% on DoD basis. Trading volume of KSE100 listed companied also followed same trend where volume figures settled at 104.29 million shares with net change of -0.16 million shares or -0.15% on DoD basis. WTL, HASCOLR1 and UNITY remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 13.64, 12.69 and 11.94 million shares and net price change of -3.91, -9.49 and -4.60 percent respectively.

320 companies have participated in today's trading where out of these 45 companies remained in positive zone at day end and 10 companies closed with no change while 265 companies closed with negative price change. NESTLE, BATA and MFFL remained top three price gainers with price gain of 199.99,33.17 and 15.48 Rs per share respectively. While on the other side WYETH, IDYM and ICI remained top three price losers with net price change of -29.99, -25.80 and -22.54 Rs per share respectively.

CEMENT, TECHNOLOGY and BANKS remained volume leading sectors at PSX with net trading volume of 26.58, 23.11 and 14.26 million shares respectively. BANKS, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION and FERTILIZER sectors have dragged index in negative direction by -220.54, -192.16 and -73.39 points with accumulated average price change of -1.79, -2.73 and -1.95 percent in their respective companies.
