Session Recap
The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 42,650.13pts with a positive gap of 88.86pts during current trading session and posted day high of 42,906.14pts with net change of 344.87pts in next one hour but later on some panic selling was witnessed and index start sliding towards negative zone and before day end index posted its day low at 42,439.68pts with net change of -121.59pts. Today session suspended at 42,455.67pts with net change of -105.60pts but during averaging mechanism index closed again above 42,500pts with net change of -54.32pts.
Trading volume at PSX floor inched up by 29.69% or 52.84 million shares and a total volume of 230.83 million shares was recorded at day end. While an increment of 42.11 million shares or 35.60% was also recorded in trading volume of KSE100 listed companies. MLCF, WTL and FCCL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 27.58, 16.50 and 13.62 million shares and net price change of 3.01, -2.44 and 0.55 percent was recorded in these scripts respectively.
Today, 357 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 149 out of these closed with net positive price change while no change was witnessed in 24 companies but 184 companies closed in negative zone at day end. COLG, SRVI and IDYM remained top three price gainers with net price change of 133.99, 44.82 and 27.69 Rs/share. While on the other side PAKT, SIEM and SAPT lead the price losers with net price change of -115.00m -36.34 and -31.00 Rs/share respectively.
Sector Performance
Cement, Technology and Banks remained volume leading sectors at PSX with net trading volume of 79.36, 34.96 and 21.86 million shares. Tobacco, Fertilizer and Exploration sectors have dragged index into negative zone by -31.56,-26.50 and -21.24 points with accumulated average price change of -2.68, -0.38 and -0.39 percent in their respective companies. While on the other side Chemical and Technology sectors have tried to support index against bearish pressure but they could not succeed in creating any noticeable impact.
