Market Evening Wrap 23rd Feb. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 46,036.21pts with a gap of 146.17pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,083.66pts where a net change of 193.62pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,663.03pts with net change of -227.01pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,728.75pts with net change of -161.29pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 718.19 million shares with net change of -3.67 million shares or -0.51% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 256.33 million shares with net change of -35.77 million shares or -12.25%. WTL, BYCO and MDTL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 84.28, 70.43 and 55.44 and net price change of 5.81, -5.01 and 8.24 percent respectively.

Today, 370 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 137 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 20 companies closed with no change but 213 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. SAPT, PRET and BHAT lead the price gainers with net price change of 59.00, 20.96 and 20.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side SRVI, POML and THALL remained top three price losers with net price change of -21.03, -18.09 and -17.94 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, REFINERY and CEMENT sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 226.85, 99.50 and 56.23 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, FERTILIZER and TEXTILE COMPOSITE sectors have supported index by adding 37.91, 21.45 and 15.84 points, while on the other side TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -103.95, -67.06 and -26.72 points respectively.
