Market Evening Wrap 24th Aug. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 39,706.23pts with a gap of 84.64pts. Later on index posted a high of 39,824.56pts where a net change of 202.97pts was recorded.While a day low of 39,473.11pts with net chage of -148.48pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 39,802.60pts with net chage of 181.01pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 371.69 million shares with net change of -28.75 million shares or -7.18% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 172.64 million shares with net change of -34.75 million shares or -16.76%. TRG, DCL and PACE remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 29.89, 23.46 and 23.46 and net price change of 7.50, 9.98 and 9.37 percent respectively.

Today,329 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 189 out of these closed with net positive price change. While 24 companies closed with no change but 116 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. ILTM, SAPT and FEROZ lead the price gainers with net price change of 73.95, 29.99 and 27.04 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side NESTLE, SFL and ISIL remained top three price losers with net price change of -50.01, -34.90 and -25.02 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and MISCELLANEOUS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 66.65, 58.30 and 29.75 million shares respectively. CEMENT, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 83.49, 49.21 and 38.96 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, FERTILIZER and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -67.81, -22.50 and -11.11 points respectively.
