Market Evening Wrap 24th Aug. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 48,100.60pts with a gap of -11.61pts. Later on index posted a high of 48,114.95pts where a net change of 2.74pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,739.53pts with net change of -372.68pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,828.71pts with net change of -283.50pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 394.90 million shares with net change of -2.74 million shares or -0.69% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 129.48 million shares with net change of -18.06 million shares or -12.24%. WTL, TELE and GGL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 43.69, 30.99 and 25.68 and net price change of -0.90, 3.17 and 1.32 percent respectively.

Today, 390 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 150 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 14 companies closed with no change but 226 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. PSEL, PMPK and SAPT lead the price gainers with net price change of 75.00, 44.99 and 40.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side SFL, PAKT and WYETH remained top three price losers with net price change of -34.99, -27.51 and -17.47 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 105.50, 36.79 and 34.42 million shares respectively. MISCELLANEOUS, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and CHEMICAL sectors have supported index by adding 74.99, 15.36 and 15.06 points, while on the other side CEMENT, COMMERCIAL BANKS and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -64.44, -59.77 and -55.69 points respectively.
