Session Recap
The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 42,490.53pts with a negative gap of -16.42pts during current trading session. While index faced some pressure in first half of the day and posted day low of 42,250.56pts with net change of -256.39pts. But in second half bulls take over the market and they pushed index into positive zone and posted a day high of 42,707.43pts with net change of 200.48pts. While session suspended at 42,633.03pts with net change of 126.08pts at day end.
Trading at PSX floor dropped by 57.78 million shares or 25.03% on DoD basis to settle at 173.04 million shares. While on the other side trading volume of KSE100 listed companies settled at 113.68 million shares with net change of -46.74 million shares or 29.14% on DoD basis. MLCF, ASCR and HASCOL remained top three volume leaders at PSX with net trading volume of 17.69, 14.03 and 13.93 million shares and net price change of 2.71, 43.10 and 5.48 percent respectively.
Today, 338 companies participated in trading at PSX and 168 out of these closed with a net positive change while 22 companies closed with no change but 148 companies closed with net negative change. SFL, MEHT and SRVI lead the price gainers with net price change of 29.56, 24.00 and 23.88 Rs/share. While on the other side SHFA, SCL and AKDCL remained top three price losers with net price change of -16.40, -12.99 and -8.54 Rs/share respectively.
Sector Performance
Cement, Banks and OMCs remained volume leading sectors today with net trading volume of 37.69, 19.86 and 17.67 million shares. Cement, Banks and Fertilizer sectors have pushed index into positive zone by adding 86.66, 76.24 and 54.22 points with accumulated average price change of 2.44, 0.33 and -0.09 percent respectively. While on the other hand Miscellaneous, Investment and Insurance sectors have tried to push index into negative zone but they could not create a noticeable impact.
