Market Evening Wrap 24th Feb. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,782.97pts with a gap of 54.22pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,887.77pts where a net change of 159.02pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,205.48pts with net change of -523.27pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,362.58pts with net change of -366.17pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 557.45 million shares with net change of -160.74 million shares or -22.38% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 280.82 million shares with net change of 24.49 million shares or 9.55%. BYCO, TRG and WTL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 84.36, 47.48 and 27.27 and net price change of -3.65, -0.68 and -6.10 percent respectively.

Today, 375 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 79 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 19 companies closed with no change but 277 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. BATA, SUTM and MARI lead the price gainers with net price change of 50.00, 22.34 and 17.12 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side GATI, SHEZ and NETSOL remained top three price losers with net price change of -42.39, -25.57 and -21.85 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, REFINERY and CEMENT sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 153.15, 105.60 and 43.81 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, FERTILIZER and TEXTILE COMPOSITE sectors have supported index by adding 38.58, 21.82 and 17.39 points, while on the other side TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -98.69, -65.00 and -26.15 points respectively.
