Market Evening Wrap 24th Jul. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 37,561.87pts with a gap of -16.34pts. Later on index posted a high of 37,863.30pts where a net change of 285.09pts was recorded.While a day low of 37,259.17pts with net chage of -319.04pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 37,607.62pts with net chage of 29.41pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 266.53 million shares with net change of -112.75 million shares or -29.73% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 189.85 million shares with net change of -56.26 million shares or -22.86%. UNITY, KEL and FFBL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 21.64, 16.84 and 15.83 and net price change of 0.71, -1.85 and 4.33 percent respectively.

Today, 330 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 141 out of these closed with net positive price change while 18 closed with no change but 171 companies closed with net negative price change. ATLH, TICL and PECO lead the price gainers with net price change of 18.50, 17.05 and 16.64 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side UPFL, SAPT and IDYM remained top three price losers with net price change of -320.00, -69.99 and -34.88 Pkr/share respectively.

Today COMMERCIAL BANKS, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and CEMENT sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 33.36, 24.24 and 24.10 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, Investment and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have supported index by adding 211.37, 20.41 and 5.87 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, CEMENT and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -51.86, -50.22 and -32.19 points respectively.
