Market Evening Wrap 24th Mar. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,436.21pts with a gap of 28.88pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,593.61pts where a net change of 186.28pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,258.99pts with net change of -148.34pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,544.19pts with net change of 136.86pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 409.67 million shares with net change of -31.30 million shares or -7.10% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 272.53 million shares with net change of -4.83 million shares or -1.74%. TRG, PTC and BYCO remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 54.58, 37.22 and 29.22 and net price change of 7.50, 11.75 and -2.24 percent respectively.

Today, 352 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 176 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 12 companies closed with no change but 164 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. BATA, GATI and SUTM lead the price gainers with net price change of 46.00, 37.33 and 29.17 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side UPFL, PMPK and AKDCL remained top three price losers with net price change of -500.00, -58.50 and -22.67 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, REFINERY and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 126.25, 64.40 and 31.29 million shares respectively. TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER sectors have supported index by adding 122.50, 33.92 and 30.16 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, FERTILIZER and FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -73.72, -16.62 and -5.80 points respectively.
