Market Evening Wrap 24th May 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 46,082.59pts with a gap of 167.61pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,314.83pts where a net change of 399.85pts was recorded. While a day low of 46,050.44pts with net change of 135.46pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 46,097.11pts with net change of 182.13pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 766.55 million shares with net change of 56.15 million shares or 7.90% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 191.70 million shares with net change of -103.16 million shares or -34.99%. WTL, SILK and SMBL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 275.89, 36.61 and 36.49 and net price change of 13.83, 4.32 and 14.29 percent respectively.

Today, 375 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 211 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 17 companies closed with no change but 147 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. COLG, WYETH and PMPK lead the price gainers with net price change of 135.00, 119.64 and 46.26 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side BATA, NESTLE and SAPT remained top three price losers with net price change of -122.94, -37.25 and -36.51 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and REFINERY sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 351.60, 88.50 and 31.28 million shares respectively. CEMENT, COMMERCIAL BANKS and AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER sectors have supported index by adding 84.32, 47.55 and 34.85 points, while on the other side TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -31.04, -15.37 and -12.26 points respectively.
