Market Evening Wrap 24th Sep 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,290.27pts with a gap of -6.61pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,424.26pts where a net change of 127.38pts was recorded. While a day low of 44,861.09pts with net change of -435.79pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,073.52pts with net change of -223.36pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 369.51 million shares with net change of -74.16 million shares or -16.72% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 186.69 million shares with net change of 55.49 million shares or 42.30%. WTL, UNITY and BYCO remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 39.71, 36.18 and 29.57 and net price change of -2.71, -3.19 and -3.32 percent respectively.

Today, 368 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 122 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 15 companies closed with no change but 231 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. COLG, RMPL and WYETH lead the price gainers with net price change of 134.84, 74.50 and 30.40 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side SFL, INDU and AKDHL remained top three price losers with net price change of -60.00, -56.70 and -27.75 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, REFINERY and VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 87.09, 36.65 and 36.18 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, CHEMICAL and AUTOMOBILE PARTS & ACCESSORIES sectors have supported index by adding 27.06, 23.70 and 11.38 points, while on the other side CEMENT, COMMERCIAL BANKS and AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -64.27, -56.14 and -28.81 points respectively.
