Market Evening Wrap 25th Aug. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,860.52pts with a gap of 31.81pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,916.76pts where a net change of 88.05pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,617.93pts with net change of -210.78pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,635.90pts with net change of -192.81pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 384.60 million shares with net change of -10.30 million shares or -2.61% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 128.94 million shares with net change of -0.53 million shares or -0.41%. WTL, ANL and GGL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 38.05, 33.39 and 22.05 and net price change of 0.30, 1.62 and -5.28 percent respectively.

Today, 391 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 157 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 17 companies closed with no change but 217 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. WYETH, BUXL and GSKCH lead the price gainers with net price change of 82.24, 13.26 and 11.23 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side PSEL, SFL and BTL remained top three price losers with net price change of -70.00, -59.01 and -20.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, TEXTILE COMPOSITE and TEXTILE SPINNING sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 72.07, 37.28 and 30.32 million shares respectively. AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER, ENGINEERING and FERTILIZER sectors have supported index by adding 15.22, 9.12 and 5.71 points, while on the other side CEMENT, MISCELLANEOUS and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -73.66, -34.72 and -29.24 points respectively.
