Market Evening Wrap 25th Feb. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,628.92pts with a gap of 266.34pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,004.68pts where a net change of 642.10pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,628.92pts with net change of 266.34pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,965.62pts with net change of 603.04pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 468.94 million shares with net change of -88.51 million shares or -15.88% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 202.34 million shares with net change of -78.48 million shares or -27.95%. TELE, BYCO and UNITY remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 36.20, 34.60 and 33.17 and net price change of 14.53, 3.49 and 2.84 percent respectively.

Today, 368 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 231 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 20 companies closed with no change but 117 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. NESTLE, NRL and GATI lead the price gainers with net price change of 54.62, 33.81 and 32.49 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side PMPK, SAPT and MACTER remained top three price losers with net price change of -69.90, -59.00 and -12.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, REFINERY and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 147.11, 48.06 and 39.34 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, CEMENT and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have supported index by adding 157.46, 143.76 and 81.35 points, while on the other side TEXTILE COMPOSITE, TOBACCO and INSURANCE sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -8.37, -5.06 and -4.54 points respectively.
