Session Recap
The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 28,665.85pts with a positive gap of 155.44pts during current trading session and moved towards its day high at 28,787.60pts where a net change of 222.77pts was recorded. But later on index started losing momentum and trading was suspended when KSE100 index was trading at 27,294.78pts because KSE30 index hit its circuit breaker. After restoration of trading index posted its day low at 27,169.14pts with net change of -1,395.69ppts and after that it tried to recover from bearish sentiment and took a spike towards 27,904.09pts but before day end index again slide downward and session closed at 27,228.80pts with net change of -1,336.03pts.
Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 144.88 million shares with net change of 46.12 million shares or 46.70% on DoD basis. While on the other side trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also surged by 43.49 million shares or 54.23% on DoD basis to settle at 123.67 million shares. MLCF, KEL and BOP remained top three volume leading scripts with net trading volume of 14.45, 11.62 and 7.94 million shares and net price change of -7.43, 4.91 and 0.86 percent respectively.
Today, 278 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 82 out of these closed with net positive price change while 17 closed with no change but 179 companies closed with net negative price change. MUREB, SHEZ and HINOON remained top three price gainers with net price change of 34.49, 15.25 and 11.46 Pkr/share, while on the other side PAKT, RMPL and COLG remained top three price losers with net price change of -137.90, -100.00 and -88.87 Pkr/share respectively.
Sector Performance
Cement, Banks and Power sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 34.29, 21.84 and 18.12 million shares respectively. Banking, Exploration and Cement sectors have dragged index into negative zone by -459.82, -155.88 and -141.15 points with accumulated average price change of -4.27, -3.83 and -6.05 percent respectively.
