Market Evening Wrap 25th May 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 46,151.10pts with a gap of 53.99pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,369.19pts where a net change of 272.08pts was recorded. While a day low of 46,048.84pts with net change of -48.27pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 46,300.66pts with net change of 203.55pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 677.27 million shares with net change of -89.28 million shares or -11.65% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 224.83 million shares with net change of 33.13 million shares or 17.28%. WTL, UNITY and TELE remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 150.35, 66.84 and 37.68 and net price change of 6.54, 5.87 and 7.48 percent respectively.

Today, 381 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 207 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 14 companies closed with no change but 160 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. WYETH, BATA and KHTC lead the price gainers with net price change of 128.62, 71.94 and 28.25 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side COLG, MARI and SCL remained top three price losers with net price change of -180.99, -24.82 and -21.90 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 260.66, 66.84 and 51.92 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, CEMENT and VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES sectors have supported index by adding 155.95, 42.12 and 29.39 points, while on the other side CHEMICAL, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and INSURANCE sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -27.49, -21.40 and -14.71 points respectively.
