Market Evening Wrap 26th April. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 44,488.25pts with a gap of -218.51pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,952.45pts where a net change of 1,245.69pts was recorded. While a day low of 44,389.68pts with net change of -317.08pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,682.77pts with net change of 976.01pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 409.05 million shares with net change of 168.57 million shares or 70.10% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 204.07 million shares with net change of 107.07 million shares or 110.38%. TELE, TRG and UNITY remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 55.05, 53.63 and 26.43 and net price change of -6.43, 3.13 and 2.07 percent respectively.

Today, 354 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 184 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 16 companies closed with no change but 154 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. ABOT, NESTLE and MARI lead the price gainers with net price change of 48.96, 40.00 and 35.07 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side MEHT, PSMC and IDYM remained top three price losers with net price change of -35.08, -16.76 and -9.84 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and CHEMICAL sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 153.46, 32.23 and 29.95 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, COMMERCIAL BANKS and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have supported index by adding 226.65, 176.80 and 98.16 points, while on the other side INSURANCE, ENGINEERING and LEATHER & TANNERIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -5.46, -5.11 and -3.65 points respectively.
