Market Evening Wrap 26th Aug. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 40,387.62pts with a gap of 94.80pts. Later on index posted a high of 40,855.11pts where a net change of 562.29pts was recorded.While a day low of 40,345.80pts with net chage of 52.98pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 40,819.11pts with net chage of 526.29pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 461.78 million shares with net change of -73.26 million shares or -13.69% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 246.41 million shares with net change of -26.73 million shares or -9.79%. PRL, HASCOL and KAPCO remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 48.98, 36.11 and 18.55 and net price change of 1.55, -1.00 and 6.52 percent respectively.

Today,346 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 211 out of these closed with net positive price change. While 18 companies closed with no change but 117 companies closed with net negative price change at day end.UPFL, COLG and INDU lead the price gainers with net price change of 698.99, 193.49 and 43.34 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side NESTLE, PMPK and ILTM remained top three price losers with net price change of -221.67, -85.00 and -81.94 Pkr/share respectively.

Today REFINERY, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and CEMENT sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 65.92, 53.43 and 48.25 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and FERTILIZER sectors have supported index by adding 202.05, 91.17 and 58.41 points, while on the other side TOBACCO, TRANSPORT and REFINERY sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -6.07, -2.90 and -2.37 points respectively.
