Market Evening Wrap 26th Aug. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,642.36pts with a gap of 6.46pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,759.50pts where a net change of 123.60pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,262.11pts with net change of -373.79pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,363.27pts with net change of -272.63pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 360.77 million shares with net change of -23.83 million shares or -6.20% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 124.95 million shares with net change of -3.99 million shares or -3.09%. HASCOL, GGL and KOSM remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 28.77, 25.11 and 21.68 and net price change of 6.59, -7.39 and 5.93 percent respectively.

Today, 387 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 110 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 14 companies closed with no change but 263 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. PSEL, SYS and EXIDE lead the price gainers with net price change of 70.00, 41.32 and 31.70 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side NESTLE, RMPL and LUCK remained top three price losers with net price change of -50.00, -50.00 and -28.19 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, TEXTILE SPINNING and CHEMICAL sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 54.78, 34.84 and 33.45 million shares respectively. TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, MISCELLANEOUS and TEXTILE WEAVING sectors have supported index by adding 51.93, 29.86 and 1.54 points, while on the other side CEMENT, COMMERCIAL BANKS and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -144.98, -53.73 and -33.38 points respectively.
