Market Evening Wrap 26th Feb. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,977.12pts with a gap of 11.50pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,239.89pts where a net change of 274.27pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,753.07pts with net change of -212.55pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,865.02pts with net change of -100.60pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 479.97 million shares with net change of 11.03 million shares or 2.35% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 233.08 million shares with net change of 30.74 million shares or 15.19%. UNITY, TELE and TRG remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 45.36, 36.67 and 33.15 and net price change of -4.76, 0.38 and -2.86 percent respectively.

Today, 374 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 129 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 15 companies closed with no change but 230 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. MEHT, SCL and PMPK lead the price gainers with net price change of 38.00, 27.18 and 25.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side COLG, RMPL and NESTLE remained top three price losers with net price change of -203.97, -200.00 and -77.95 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, REFINERY and VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 118.70, 49.79 and 45.37 million shares respectively. CEMENT, PHARMACEUTICALS and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors have supported index by adding 39.43, 32.90 and 23.20 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and CHEMICAL sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -61.03, -56.95 and -26.12 points respectively.
