Market Evening Wrap 26th Jan. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 46,187.52pts with a gap of 99.88pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,398.01pts where a net change of 310.37pts was recorded. While a day low of 46,097.20pts with net change of 9.56pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 46,287.38pts with net change of 199.74pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 603.23 million shares with net change of 133.22 million shares or 28.34% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 341.57 million shares with net change of 83.27 million shares or 32.24%. JSBL, TRG and FFBL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 65.35, 36.20 and 36.02 and net price change of -3.33, 3.01 and -3.13 percent respectively.

Today, 380 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 176 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 11 companies closed with no change but 193 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. NESTLE, AKDCL and ICI lead the price gainers with net price change of 50.00, 32.18 and 31.85 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side MFFL, SAPT and PAKT remained top three price losers with net price change of -32.56, -28.27 and -15.99 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and CEMENT sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 88.55, 86.90 and 70.62 million shares respectively. CEMENT, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 87.92, 42.94 and 38.54 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, Investment and PHARMACEUTICALS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -19.67, -16.24 and -7.49 points respectively.
