Market Evening Wrap 26th May 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 46,429.42pts with a gap of 128.76pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,856.27pts where a net change of 555.61pts was recorded. While a day low of 46,424.43pts with net change of 123.77pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 46,812.31pts with net change of 511.65pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 1,563.25 million shares with net change of 885.98 million shares or 130.82% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 306.27 million shares with net change of 81.45 million shares or 36.23%. WTL, HUMNL and UNITY remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 707.73, 112.49 and 45.13 and net price change of 41.23, 14.68 and 3.53 percent respectively.

Today, 390 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 251 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 15 companies closed with no change but 124 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. WYETH, PMPK and SCL lead the price gainers with net price change of 138.26, 31.40 and 25.89 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side RMPL, AKDCL and PAKT remained top three price losers with net price change of -150.00, -17.80 and -15.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, Investment and ENGINEERING sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 938.88, 64.07 and 46.32 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 159.22, 104.39 and 84.95 points, while on the other side CEMENT, TOBACCO and PAPER & BOARD sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -6.18, -4.49 and -3.75 points respectively.
