Market Evening Wrap 27th Dec. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 42,652.37pts with a positive gap of 19.34pts during current trading session and moved towards its day high at 42,738.56pts in first hour where a net change of 105.54pts was recorded but bulls lost their control at that level and index start sliding towards it day low at 42,724.16pts with a net change of -160.86pts. Later on index settled at 42,539.23pts with a net change of -93.79pts after a volatile trading session.

Trading volume at PSX floor inched up by 14.7% on 25.44 million share on DoD basis to settle at 198.48 million shares. While on the other side trading volume of KSE100 listed companies was settled at 126.38 million shares with an increment of 12.7 million shares or 11.17% on DoD basis. MLCF, PIBL and FCCL remained volume leaders with net trading volume of 25.96, 25.18 and 12.15 million shares and net price change of 5.48, 4.05 and 2.31 percent respectively.

Today, 345 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 159 out of these closed with a positive note while 16 companies closed with no change but 170 companies closed with net negative price change. GATI, MEHT and SAWEW lead the price gainers with net price change of 28.00, 25.00 and 13.48 Rs/share. While on the other side UPFL, SHEZ and IDYM remained top price losers with net price change of -49.00, -29.99 and -24.98 Rs/share respectively.

Cement, Transport and Technology sectors remained top volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 66.15, 35.09 and 17.31 million shares. Exploration, Power and Textile composite sectors have dragged index into negative zone by -95.36, -41.96 and -14.12 points with accumulated average price change of -1.42, -1.46 and -0.89 percent respectively. While on the other side Fertilizer and Miscellaneous sectors had tried to push index into positive zone but they could not succeed in creating a noticeable impact.
