Market Evening Wrap 27th May 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 46,976.64pts with a gap of 164.33pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,204.13pts where a net change of 391.82pts was recorded. While a day low of 46,675.69pts with net change of -136.62pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 46,790.75pts with net change of -21.56pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 2,147.48 million shares with net change of 584.23 million shares or 37.37% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 512.47 million shares with net change of 206.20 million shares or 67.33%. WTL, HUMNL and SILK remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 950.27, 172.58 and 126.51 and net price change of 0.62, 4.87 and 4.83 percent respectively.

Today, 396 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 156 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 19 companies closed with no change but 221 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. GATI, MEHT and PECO lead the price gainers with net price change of 33.52, 30.00 and 26.14 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side UPFL, PAKT and NESTLE remained top three price losers with net price change of -983.00, -71.86 and -66.90 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and REFINERY sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 1,327.47, 175.89 and 133.25 million shares respectively. Investment, CEMENT and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have supported index by adding 24.35, 20.17 and 16.72 points, while on the other side TOBACCO, FERTILIZER and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -29.20, -27.11 and -22.12 points respectively.
