Session Recap
The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 37,906.47pts with a positive gap of 111.42pts during current trading session and headed towards 38,096.85pts with net change of 301.80pts during first half hour but later on bears ride the market to push it downward to post a day low at 37,671.63pts with net change of -123.42pts while index started recovering before day end and posted a day high at 38,122.72pts with net change of 327.67pts and session suspended at same 38122.72pts with net change of 327.67pts.
Trading volume at PSX floor dropped by 260.57 million shares or 53.32% on DoD basis to settle at a total number of 228.13 million shares during current trading session. UNITY, FFL and MLCF were top three volume leaders at PSX with trading volume of 24.03, 19.95 and 15.31 million shares with net price change of -0.62, 3.91 and 5.01 percent respectively. Trading volume of companies listed in KSE100 index settled at 140.08 million shares with net change of 194.1 million shares or 58.08% on DoD basis.
Today 333 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 206 companies closed with a positive change while 11 companies closed with no change and 116 companies closed with a negative price move. PAKT, SRVI and BATA lead the movers with net price change of 116.00, 38.00 and 32.99 Rs/share respectively. While on the other side UPFL, COLG and MARI remained top three laggards with net price change of -345.00, -69.99 and -25.79 Rs/share respectively.
MCB, PAKT and HBL have added 86.72, 32.32 and 32.17 points in KSE100 index with net price change of 9.36, 116.00 and 1.97 Rs/share respectively. While on the other side ENGRO, PPL and MARI have tried to drag index in negative zone by -24.98, -16.41 and -15.46 points with net price change of -3.47, -1.09 and -25.79 Rs/share respectively.
Sector Performance
Cement, Vanaspati and Food & Personal Care Products sectors have lead the volume figures at PSX floor with trading volume of 35.49, 24.03 and 23.59 million shares respectively. Banks, Tobacco and Power generation companies have added 143.75, 31.10 and 27.58 points in index with accumulated price change of 0.65, 2.07 and 0.33 percent in their respective companies. While on the other side Oil Exploration, Close End Mutual Funds and Transport sectors have tried to drag index in negative direction with -17.31, -1.25 and -1.22 points with accumulative price change of -0.56, -2.16 and -0.54 percent in their respective companies.
