Session Recap
The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 37,904.35pts with a negative gap of -182.97pts during current trading session and after a dip at 37,813.53pts it started recovering into positive zone in next five minutes and moved towards its day high at 38,307.07 in a zig zag way where net change of 219.75pts was recorded. From that region bears take control of the market and they started dragging it in negative direction and index posted day low of 37,758.57pts with net change of -328.75pts. While session suspended at 37,983.62pts with net change of -103.70pts.
Trading volume of PSX floor dropped by 47.08 million shares or -18.89% on DoD basis to settle at 202.16 million shares. While on the other side same negative trend was witnessed in trading volume of KSE100 listed companies where a net change of -23.58 million shares or -12.62% was recorded and volume figures settled at 163.19 million shares. HASCOL, MLCF and UNITY remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 18.51, 17.62 and 14.03 million shares and net price change of -3.41, 2.40 and 0.39 percent respectively.
Today, 342 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 161 out of these closed with net positive price change while prices of 27 companies remained unchanged and 154 companies closed with net negative price change. BHAT, INDU and SFL lead the price gainers with net price change of 45.99, 41.97 and 38.12 Rs/share. While on the other side RMPL, PMPK and SAPT remained top three price losers with net price change of -188.09, -150.85 and -63.36 Rs/per share.
Sector Performance
Cement, Banks and OMCs sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 48.33, 23.37 and 14.04 million shares. Exploration, Power and OMCs dragged the index into negative zone by -130.40, -38.75 and -25.93 points with accumulated average price change of -2.43, -1.37 and -1.02 percent respectively. While on the other side Cement, Fertilizer and Pharma sectors have tried to push index into positive zone by adding 67.61, 57.61 and 23.57 points with accumulated average price change of 3.56, 1.44 and 1.69 percent respectively.
