Market Evening Wrap 28th Jul. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,784.58pts with a gap of 97.59pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,874.69pts where a net change of 187.70pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,241.55pts with net change of -445.44pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,318.03pts with net change of -368.96pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 365.61 million shares with net change of -66.84 million shares or -15.46% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 128.93 million shares with net change of -33.37 million shares or -20.56%. WTL, BYCO and TELE remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 40.38, 26.89 and 13.23 and net price change of -4.55, -1.59 and -1.39 percent respectively.

Today, 399 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 92 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 11 companies closed with no change but 296 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. COLG, GATI and BTL lead the price gainers with net price change of 93.98, 35.50 and 35.01 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side WYETH, NRL and HINO remained top three price losers with net price change of -44.85, -27.31 and -22.51 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, REFINERY and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 93.19, 31.12 and 20.72 million shares respectively. CHEMICAL, TOBACCO and SUGAR & ALLIED INDUSTRIES sectors have supported index by adding 13.07, 4.34 and 3.37 points, while on the other side TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and REFINERY sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -104.78, -46.09 and -34.76 points respectively.
