Market Evening Wrap 28th May 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 46,804.64pts with a gap of 13.89pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,246.50pts where a net change of 455.75pts was recorded. While a day low of 46,698.23pts with net change of -92.52pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,126.29pts with net change of 335.54pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 959.84 million shares with net change of -1,187.64 million shares or -55.30% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 223.70 million shares with net change of -288.78 million shares or -56.35%. WTL, SILK and BYCO remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 381.39, 56.31 and 38.75 and net price change of -7.41, 3.95 and 2.57 percent respectively.

Today, 377 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 213 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 16 companies closed with no change but 148 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. UPFL, WYETH and INDU lead the price gainers with net price change of 374.00, 148.63 and 35.65 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side COLG, GATI and SAPT remained top three price losers with net price change of -45.00, -27.54 and -14.99 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and CHEMICAL sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 476.05, 87.68 and 46.03 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, COMMERCIAL BANKS and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 104.53, 99.70 and 52.30 points, while on the other side CHEMICAL, LEASING COMPANIES and AUTOMOBILE PARTS & ACCESSORIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -11.36, -4.96 and -4.22 points respectively.
