Market Evening Wrap 29th Jul. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 38,780.92pts with a gap of 153.65pts. Later on index posted a high of 39,124.33pts where a net change of 497.06pts was recorded.While a day low of 38,690.49pts with net chage of 63.22pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 38,836.27pts with net chage of 209.00pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 508.22 million shares with net change of 113.95 million shares or 28.90% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 368.74 million shares with net change of 126.81 million shares or 52.42%. PAEL, MLCF and BOP remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 26.29, 26.16 and 23.40 and net price change of 0.78, 3.45 and 3.02 percent respectively.

Today, 358 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 171 out of these closed with net positive price change while 28 closed with no change but 159 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. WYETH, PMPK and ICI lead the price gainers with net price change of 46.99, 24.99 and 22.45 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side NESTLE, SAPT and SFL remained top three price losers with net price change of -141.21, -51.99 and -46.99 Pkr/share respectively.

Today COMMERCIAL BANKS, CEMENT and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 60.92, 59.69 and 35.62 million shares respectively. CEMENT, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 80.17, 61.44 and 54.72 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, TOBACCO and FERTILIZER sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -33.01, -9.32 and -6.75 points respectively.
