The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 33,766.76pts with a gap of 71.34pts. Later on index posted a high of 34,048.56pts where a net change of 353.14pts was recorded.While a day low of 33,766.76pts with net chage of 71.34pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 33,931.23pts with net chage of 235.81pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 232.98 million shares with net change of 38.28 million shares or 19.66% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 166.41 million shares with net change of 19.89 million shares or 13.58%. UNITY, HASCOL and TRG remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 25.85, 19.55 and 16.48 and net price change of 1.28, 0.20 and 3.14 percent respectively.

Today, 317 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 174 out of these closed with net positive price change while 18 closed with no change but 125 companies close with net negative price change at day end. UPFL, SAPT and SFL lead the price gainers with net price change of 59.00, 54.08 and 53.55 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side RMPL, NESTLE and WYETH remained top three price losers with net price change of -150.00, -130.01 and -72.17 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 34.34, 26.76 and 25.85 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors have supported index by adding 121.12, 66.46 and 36.73 points, while on the other side FERTILIZER, FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS and TOBACCO sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -22.79, -18.21 and -12.28 points respectively.
